Fall, 2002 Studio Photo |

Holly's Second Grade School Photo (2002) |

Andrew's Fifth Grade School Photo (2002) |
| 2002 Fall Photo Practice Session.
Michelle dressed the kids in their "Fall 2002 Studio
Photo" clothes and took some practice shots. After seeing how
good a couple of these are, I'm wondering if we even need to go to
the studio. Sure we need to hide the electric cords or maybe find
another spot altogether, but I really like these photos! |

Holly's First Grade School Photo (2001)
|
Andrew's 4th Grade School Photo (2001)
|
Hallowe'en 2001. In case it's not obvious, Holly is
a "Hot Rock Star" and Andrew is an exposed-brain alien. (I wish
you could see his brain better.)

Random studio shot of the kids.

Andrew monkeying around with the camera's remote
control. This is resized to 800x600 from a photo taken at the "Medium
1" resolution, which is 1600x1200. Click

Slightly out of focus, but if a photo of Holly
doesn't appear here, I'll be in big trouble.

This was taken during a 360° sweep of Holly's
room done to make a Quicktime VR file. Experience "Virtual
Reality" by clicking the strip
below. |
Holly just had to have a turn trying out
the new camera. Her very first try was a surprisingly well framed shot of
Andrew by the Christmas tree. This is resized to 800x600 from a photo
taken at the "Medium 1" resolution, which is 1600x1200. Click
here to see the higher resolution version.

Another 2272x1704 shot. Not much color, but
super-sharp.

(You'll need Apple's
Quicktime if you don't already have it.) |
My first "artistic" photo. Cropped
and resized from a manual-focus experiment.
|
| Long-exposure
experiments. Proof-of-concept for my lighted-boomerang-flying-in-the-dark
dream photo. One reason I chose this camera is because of its flexibility
with manual exposure settings. |
Tried to write my name (backwards yet!) with an
Indiglo watch, but wasn't fast enough. |
Twirling around a remote control. The camera is
picking up the flashing infra-red LED. |
Twirling around another remote control. This one has
a normal red LED which I was pointing at the camera. The fainter tracer is
from an infra-red LED also on the remote. |
Here are a couple of reviews of the camera if you are
interested in more info:

New Digital Experiments:
First still-shot bluescreen experiment. |
Another one.
These aren't meant to look real. We're just
experimenting, you know? |
|
Proof-of-concept for bluescreen compositing with
video. Click
for low-res clip or get this smaller, High-res
clip with DIVX compression. They are both just 14 seconds long.
You may need the DIVX
software which you can grab here.
Note that these are just a test. We'll get some
better stuff put together over the Christmas break. |
Two sets of Triplets!
(I will have one of these that looks real before I'm
done.) |

Choose the left image if you have Red/Blue 3D glasses and the right
